No Pirates on Board-5 things You Cannot Do on Sea
2009 November 5
Is This Satisfying You?
Do not expect all pirates in the world to be like the “Pirates of the Caribbean”. Real pirates are only slier, greedier and more dangerous.
To avoid them, you should at least avoid doing 5 things:
-
Do not try your luck and go into or near the area pirates are found, such as Somalia.
-
Do not forget to check the radio system on your ship before setting out. The radios may become the only way to ask for help when you unfortunately encounter pirates in supposedly safe area.
-
Do not try to establish friendship with strangers on sea. You will never know what hte pirates look like. They may just want lurk into your ship while pretending to be common voyager.
-
Do not forger to have enough fuel for your ship. In case you will meet the pirates, you can at least skedaddle out of there in full speed and make it easier to reach safe harbor.
-
Never provoke local ships or boats. They maybe just poor fisherfold, but it is also possible that they are backed by a Pirates Corps. Provoking is never a good thing to do, nor a safe thing.
All in all, your life is more important than property, self-esteem, freedom or anything else.
